Do you know that feeling you get when you are rewarded for your work? You got a good grade on an essay that you spent hours on. You receive a promotion after three steely months of hard work. If you’re lucky, you receive an award that you can hold in your hand and brandish to the sky to say “I did it!”. You are excited, joyful, and proud.
This excitement, joy, and pride are doubled when you feel that you deserved the accolade. When there is no self-doubt dimming the experience. You know how hard you worked, how much time you devoted, and how well-deserving you are of the prize. In my experience, this differs from the slight numbing of insecurity when receiving the same award.
What do you feel you fully deserve?
What do you feel like (either by insecurity or some other mysterious factor) you do not deserve?
Does your relative deservedness influence your ability to celebrate yourself?

Mine would definitely be when I got into law school. Fulfilled my need for academic validation which is also why I am doing three more years of school.
I think this reflection just goes to show how deserving of your friendships you are, Tara! Thank you for contributing, but thank you more for being a friend :) San Diego here we come!

Absolutely, completely well-deserved Lucia! All your hard work finally rewarded...I can't wait to see where this takes you!
I have been incredibly blessed to have a lot of wonderful friends that I feel I will simply never deserve, no matter how good of a person I can be.
