I think of photography as a granular art. Capturing the small to see the big. As such, I’m beginning a four-week series pairing two hobbies of mine: photography & writing.
I took this one on a playground and I know it’s dull, but I love it. I love how the clarity is several feet away, amidst a crowded sea of pebbles. I like how the rocks take up half the frame and differentiate from the rest of the skyline. It’s quite distorted: the rocks take up half the frame, and yet, in reality, take up significantly less than half of the height of the world. Also, I had to lay down in the rocks to get this perspective. So it deserves to be on this page.
My therapist told me this was her favorite of mine. And because I think therapists are the underestimated backbone of society, her favorite belongs on this page.
Taken in the dead of winter, and yet there are such vibrant colors captured. Beauty will persist.
