What you bring to paper is what you bring to life. What are you bringing today?
I’m bringing my gratitude:
12/14: my older brother who turns 25 today. Here are the coasters I bought him that he proceeded to forget in the back seat of my car…
12/15: the slowness of a Trader Joe’s on a Friday night.
12/16: my lovely friend Tara who invited me to a holiday party!
12/17: a staying in pajamas all day kind of Sunday.
12/18: when past meets present in a single moment.
12/19: the friendly advice to not be ashamed of my creation, to share it with the world (even on tiktok!)
featuring the poem "echoes" from the forthcoming "echoes"
12/20: inside jokes with my younger brother
12/21: Brandy - the beautiful irish setter who enjoyed my company when walking in NYC.
12/22: the delta airlines employee who said that Russo was a “bad ass” last name.
12/23: seeing friends, old and new.
12/24: after a red eye and much jet lag, I was grateful to sleep in until noon.
12/25: celebrating Christmas with family. There is a warmth, nostalgia, and delightful expectation that leads the day.
12/26: Frida, the sweetest golden retriever who loves selfies (clearly).
12/27: a new weighted blanket - my first ever - that allowed me to fall asleep in the blink of an eye (literally).
12/28: actually knowing what day it is in the eerie in-between of the days after Christmas and before New Year’s.
12/29: an oversized Patagonia that keep me warm and insulated from the world.
12/30: both the space to roam and the lack of space to roam - felt during the Zach Bryan concert at Petco Park.
12/31: ringing in the end of the year with the people closest to my heart!
Happy New Year to you all!
I hope 2024 is treating you kindly.
Until next time,
Kiera
